Pita Women Association for Development (PWAD) was established in 1996 in Khartoum as a not for profit non-government organization following the long civil war that lasted for two decades in the Sudan, especially in South Sudan.

PWAD fully relocated to South Sudan after the 2005 comprehensive peace agreement.

Its main objective is to empower, rehabilitate and develop the marginalized communities severely affected by;
- poverty,
- illiteracy and
- disease.

Our Vision
An educated and economically empowered South
Sudanese people co-existing peacefully in their
communities.
Mission Statement
PWAD strives to eliminate poverty, illiteracy disease and
inequality through a grassroots participatory Approach.
Our Goals
  • Empowerment of women, men and youth, with life
    skills for socio-economic development.
  • Promotion of basic education to children.
  • Promotion of Health Care services.
  • Poverty Alleviation.
  • Advocating for sustainable community development.
  • Promotion of Human Rights for all.
